Through a process of focused listening, research and urban analysis, Signal Station North will develop a conceptual and practical public space lighting plan for the Station North Arts District.

Supported by the NEA and Central Baltimore Partnership and led by the Neighborhood Design Center, Signal is a collaborative project of local artists, designers and nonprofits. Project outputs will include:

  • A plan for lighting and activating exterior public spaces in the Arts District.
  • Three small-scale demonstration light projects produced in collaboration with designers and artists.
  • A series of workshops and publications to share learnings, best practices and lighting advocacy broadly.
