FAQ

Frequent Questions

WILL YOU BE INSTALLING LIGHTING IN STATION NORTH?

The Station North Public Space Lighting Plan will include lighting recommendations for sites and streets throughout the district. However, we will only be implementing three (3) demonstration projects within the scope of the Signal project: (1) a practical lighting installation, (2) a low-cost, DIY lighting installation, and (3) an artist-designed public light installation.

Over the next year and a half, we’ll be working to lay the groundwork for more implementation of the plan after June 2021.

WHY IS THE PLAN LIMITED TO THE STATION NORTH ARTS DISTRICT?

Our project is funded in large part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a previous supporter of the Station North Arts District. We applied for funding in this area because of its focus on the arts and because it encompasses several Central Baltimore neighborhoods.

Though the plan will make specific recommendations only within the Arts District, many of the best practices and learnings will be applicable and implementable throughout Baltimore City.
